Cultivating curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every child.
Welcome to Junior School
It is with great honour and excitement that I step into the role of Head of Secondary School at Al Maha Academy for Girls. As I begin this new journey with you, I am filled with a profound sense of purpose and dedication to the continued success and growth of our vibrant school community.
At Al Maha Academy for Girls, we believe children thrive when they feel happy, safe, and secure. That’s why our Junior School staff goes above and beyond to support each of our students. Teachers design engaging lessons and create dynamic learning environments where every child is valued, respected, and celebrated.
Our curriculum is built around the National Curriculum for England, ensuring that our students meet the same age-related expectations as their peers in the UK, while embracing our core Islamic values. We use evidence-based resources, such as the White Rose Maths scheme, which incorporates the CPA approach (Concrete, Pictorial, and Abstract) to foster deep conceptual understanding.
In addition to traditional methods, we incorporate the latest educational technologies like Century Tech, Accelerated Reader, and Oxford Owl, personalizing each girl’s learning journey. Our comprehensive computing curriculum covers key topics such as cyber-security, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Student voice is at the heart of our school. We’ve developed a robust Student Leadership program, empowering our girls to take on leadership roles, including Student Council, Eco Warriors, House Leaders, Scouts, and Digital Leaders. These young leaders are committed to making a positive impact both within the school and beyond.
Academic excellence is supported by rigorous assessment procedures that track each student’s progress. This allows us to provide targeted support for those who need it and offer enrichment opportunities for those ready for additional challenges. Our Learning Support Team is dedicated to assisting students with specific needs, while our Gifted and Talented program ensures that students have opportunities to further develop their skills and passions.
At Al Maha Academy for Girls, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly changing world. Beyond academic knowledge, we focus on developing global competencies—the 6Cs: Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. These essential skills empower our students to approach the future with confidence, strong values, and a desire to make a difference.
